Heckabad Music is committed to bringing you music. We'll never claim to have the next big thing, nor will we pressure you to buy all our stuff. We are merely committed to bringing you music. We are an independent record label. We are a collective of musicians. We produce music. We distribute music. We believe in the live performance. We ponder the relationship that existed between performer and audience before the advent of the phonograph or the wire or the wax or payola. We'd like to think that a snipet-in-time, stagnant, recorded album of songs does not even approximate the expansiveness and the experience that music could and should be. But albums are still cool. We believe that lyrical song was born of an oral tradition of storytelling, and that said tradition should be maintained. We shy from using genres to label our artists. Listen and label them yourselves if you must. Our goal is knowledge. To seek out brave new stuff, to go where few indie-kinder have gone before...just like the good boat Enterprise. We are not Trekkies, but that was a good show.
